GCT Semiconductor

Wireless communication solutions

GCT is a fabless semiconductor designer providing 4G LTE and 5G chips. Commercialized in 2010, its LTE technology provides fast, reliable connectivity for leading global operators in smartphones, tablets, hotspots, CPE, USB dongles, routers and M2M devices. Its SoCs integrate RF, baseband modem and DSP on one chip for complete 4G platforms with small size, low power, performance, reliability and cost advantages.

Origins

In 1998 Dr. K. H. Lee developed an RF transceiver direct conversion architecture for diverse wireless applications, leveraging CMOS integration, yield and cost. The proprietary CMOS RF direct conversion technology led to GCT's foundation that year.

The source lists over 200 employees including over 120 engineers, headquarters in San Jose, California, and R&D in Seoul. Engineers hold advanced engineering degrees and specialize in 4G/5G.
